Horse Boarding

Thoughtful Care. Quality Facilities. A Barn That Feels Like Home.

At Pony Tail Acres, we believe great boarding is about much more than providing a stall and feeding twice a day. Our goal is to provide each horse with attentive, individualized care while giving owners the peace of mind of knowing their horse is being looked after by experienced horse people every day.

Our full board program is designed for owners who want to enjoy their horse without worrying about all the little details that go into keeping them happy, healthy, comfortable, and ready to ride.

We intentionally keep our boarding program small. This allows our staff to know each horse individually—their normal habits, personalities, turnout preferences, feeding needs, and the little changes that can indicate something isn’t quite right.

Full board is $1,400 per month.

Boarding spaces are limited and rarely become available. To inquire about availability or schedule a barn tour, please contact us at 770-235-9996.

Full-Service Care

Our boarders enjoy comprehensive daily care, including:

  • Twice-daily feeding with Cavalor feeds, with feeding programs adjusted to each horse’s individual needs.
  • Quality forage available throughout the day, including locally grown grass hay and seasonal pasture/round bales as appropriate.
  • Small-group turnout with safe fencing, allowing horses to socialize while groups are selected with compatibility and safety in mind.
  • Twice-daily hands-on wellness checks. We keep an eye out for everything from scrapes, swelling, lost shoes, and damaged turnout gear to changes in behavior, appetite, or condition—and communicate with owners when something needs attention.
  • Daily hoof picking and monitoring for missing or loose shoes. When needed, our Barn Manager can coordinate directly with the barn farrier for replacement.
  • Owner-provided blankets, fly sheets, and boots changed as needed so your horse stays comfortable through Georgia’s changing seasons.
  • Owner- and veterinarian-provided medications and supplements administered as directed.
  • Natural fly-management practices, including fly predators and manure management, with owner-provided fly spray applied before summer turnout.
  • Routine rotational deworming based on our veterinarian’s recommendations.

One of the Best Perks? We Handle the Appointments.

Owning a horse comes with a surprisingly long list of appointments. Boarding at Pony Tail Acres means you don’t always have to rearrange your day to meet the farrier, veterinarian, or bodyworker.

We can hold and assist with horses for scheduled veterinary, farrier, and bodywork appointments as needed.

We also regularly coordinate visits from trusted equine professionals, including:

  • Our AFA Certified Journeyman Farrier, who combines skilled, movement-conscious hoof care with patient horsemanship—even with horses who may not always make the farrier’s job easy.
  • An equine massage therapist offering PEMF services.
  • A chiropractor certified in acupuncture and shockwave therapy.

Having these professionals regularly scheduled at the barn makes maintaining your horse’s wellness program considerably easier.

Education & Support for Horse Owners

We want our boarders to feel confident not only in the saddle, but also in caring for and managing their horses.

Boarders participate in a monthly Boarder Horse Management lesson, included with board. These sessions cover practical topics in horse care, equipment, management, and horsemanship while also giving our boarders an opportunity to learn and socialize together.

Boarders also participate in regular riding lessons at least once every two weeks with our on-staff instructor. This helps horse-and-rider partnerships continue to develop while providing another set of knowledgeable eyes on each horse’s training, comfort, and progress.

Outside trainers do not regularly teach at our facility, allowing us to maintain a consistent training philosophy and safe riding environment. We do, however, welcome select clinicians throughout the year.

Plenty of Room to Ride

Whether you’re schooling for your next show, working on your flatwork, introducing your horse to cross-country questions, or simply enjoying a relaxing hack, Pony Tail Acres offers a variety of spaces to ride and train.

Our facility includes:

  • 250′ × 150′ outdoor arena with quality footing, sprinkler system, and arena lights. Regularly maintained
  • Full stadium jumping course with a variety of fillers
  • Additional grass jump field with schooling fences
  • Gallop field with schooling cross-country jumps
  • Additional hacking space on the property
  • More hacking opportunities at Violet Stout Park, conveniently 1/2 mile down Stout Pkwy (trailer parking available for trailering over as well)
  • 10′ × 11′ stalls, with larger 12′ × 16′ stalls available based on availability
  • Two large grooming cross-ties plus additional aisle grooming and tacking areas
  • Two hot/cold wash racks

More Than a Place to Keep Your Horse

Our on-staff instructor provides lessons and training throughout the year, and boarders have opportunities to participate in on-site clinics, schooling shows, and recognized competitions.

Most importantly, we strive to create a barn where owners can come out, enjoy their horses, continue learning, and feel confident that the everyday details are being taken care of.

Our staff is continually working to improve the property, care program, and amenities for both horses and riders.

We currently offer full board only; pasture board and partial/self-care board are not available.

If you’re looking for attentive horse care, an educational environment, great riding amenities, and a barn community where you and your horse can thrive, we’d love to show you around.
